The official release of the Khaleej Times special report (The Making of Al Shera’a – October 23, 2026) highlights Al Shabib Trading LLC (AST) and tactiles.ae as key contributors to one of the region’s most ambitious sustainability and accessibility projects: the new DEWA Headquarters (Al Shera’a) in Al Jaddaf, Dubai.

Recognized as “Your Specialist in Complete Tactile Solutions,” our dedicated division supplied and installed the comprehensive tactile ground surface indicator (TGSI) system across the headquarters.

Setting Accessibility Standards at the World’s Smartest Net-Positive Building

DEWA’s Al Shera’a (Arabic for Sail) represents a global benchmark for sustainable, future-ready infrastructure. Earning LEED Platinum Certification (scoring 102 out of 110 points) and designed to achieve both WELL Platinum and Dubai Al Sa’fat Platinum ratings, every material specified for this 2+ million square foot landmark underwent rigorous technical and environmental evaluation.

Under the Dubai Universal Design Code and national accessibility frameworks, achieving universal access for People of Determination (visually impaired) was a core priority.

Our Scope on the DEWA Al Shera’a Project

To ensure seamless, safe, and intuitive navigation throughout the building’s expansive public corridors, lift lobbies, and staircase zones, Al Shabib Trading LLC – Tactile Division executed:

  1. Supply of High-Grade Tactile Indicators: Delivering premium 316-grade stainless steel hazard warning studs and directional guiding strips engineered to withstand high footfall while maintaining an ultra-sleek architectural finish.
  2. Precision Engineering & Installation: Utilizing custom drilling templates, specialized core preparation, and heavy-duty structural adhesives to ensure 100% flush alignment across the building’s specialized terrazzo and tiled subfloors.
  3. Full Compliance Oversight: Ensuring all installed warning patterns, directional paths, and luminance contrast ratios strictly satisfied Dubai Municipality, RTA, and international accessibility standards.
